Ahh!! Sex tape!! of Jen Aniston!!! ……

Wait Wait Wait!! Its all about the new Viral campaign (Advertising Agency: Kraftworks, New York, USA) of Smart Water. The 3 minute video has Jennifer Aniston (spokesperson of Smart Water for a long time) talking about the elements to add to the video to make it Viral.

She says - “I’m here to talk to you about Smart Water, But in this day and age, I can’t just do that, can I?

So she takes help of 3 Internet Boys and the elements to make video Viral. Puppies, a parrot, dancing CGI babies and a Double Rainbow guy clone. Also kicking a fan in private parts by saying – “Sorry, but that should be worth about 100,000 hits”!!!

Finally, Aniston suggestively drinks from a Smart Water bottle, getting her three “Internet boys” hot and heavy. The punchline? They decide to call the would-be viral video “Jen Aniston’s Sex Tape.”

It already has 6,775,172 hits in just 5 days!! Heres the video:

BRIEF
Volkswagen decided to sponsor the Planeta Terra Festival (big music fest in São Paulo) as it was a great opportunity to bring their trendy car, the Fox, closer to city’s youth. Then came the challenge: spread the Fox message beyond the event walls, reaching every youngster in São Paulo.

AlmapBBDO was roped in and they came with this solution:

First, they spread a series of tickets in different places within’ São Paulo. Then, a online platform was launched where visitors could see the Google Maps of the entire city. The mechanic was simple: the more tweets #foxatplanetaterra, the closer the zoom on the map. The first one to get to the ticket, won it. This went on for four days straight.

RESULTS
The tweet #foxatplanetaterra became a TrendTopic in São Paulo in less than 2 hours, where it remained for the entire length of the competition.

The “Heineken Huggers” were out on the streets hugging every Heineken drinking person, returning back the love, they gave with One Million likes on the Facebook Page. They shot a beautiful video , which already has 84,000 views in 2 weeks. The video also shows a person being denied of a hug because he’s not drinking Heineken!! Here’s the video -

A nice gesture to return the love to the Facebook fans. Generally brands give some goodies or incentives, but Heineken did a wonderful job by mixing the online and offline world. A BIG THUMBS UP!!!

Through this campaign Through this campaign, Heineken introduced new universal tag line ‘Open Your World’ with a host of ad campaigns: See here.

Which Indian brand do you think could send such Hug team or can take thanks gesture offline?

Few days ago I was invited for the Whats on india Team to discuss about their new Initiative “My Child’s TeeVee”. I was first wondering whats is this Whats On India, now wondering about My Child’s TeeVee.

A small google search search led me to ” What’s-On-India is India’s first and only Television Guidance Channel”. Impressive.

Well I was (along with some more bloggers) introduced to Mr. Atul Phadnis, who made us understand the concept and showed the way it works.

What’s On India is a free to air channel which is like a Index to the Channel, more of a channel guide. It looks somewhat like this:

The bottom half of the screen on this free-to-air satellite channel is an electronic programming guide (EPG), the top right partof the channel alternates between genre-wise suggestions and what’s scheduled in the next few minutes across channels. On days when channels replace regular programming with special shows, the channel will be a one-stop guide to the various shows.

‘My Child’s TeeVee’ , India’s first show on Parental TV Guidance - Talking about the What’s on India Initiative My Child’s TeeVee, Mr. Atul Phadnis told us giving the examples, how the children are addicted to TV. A suprising fact, which Atul shared was that around 70% children watch “Pavitra Rishta” regularly, which is a soap based on good and bad relations.

My Child’s TeeVee is a 7 minutes’ show. It is an step to create awareness amongst the young parents about the adverse effects of excessive television viewing on their kids. The show will be having eminent child specialists talking about the same.

These doctors will discuss and give insights on the adverse effects of excessive television on child’s psychology and the emerging need for parental guidance in television. The show will also highlight some must watch shows for kids, and provide expert ideas on how to handle kids of various age groups.

This seems to be an innovative and concerned step towards children.

Google – the most used search engine was liked by many for the most simple interface. Just a Search box and two buttons – Google Search and I’m feeling Lucky (Though, I still wonder how many use that button. I have used it very very rarely!). And a few Basic links about google and advanced search.

But, Now i think people got bored of the simple, minimalistic, while layout. Then Bing was launched with Background Images. I had a thought once about Google having a Background pic.

But, Today when I opened Google.com, I found a small link on the left hand bottom corner, which said – Sign in to see your background Image. When Signed up – It gives option of selecting Images from: Computer, Picasa, Public Gallery and Editor’s pick. Also they have awarning which says – only use pictures that you have licence to use. (how many people will use licenced pictures?) I Opted for Public gallery and chose this.

Still its a nice gesture to personalise the world favourite Search Engine.

Whats your Background image for the google Search Engine??

You must have seen the word boobquake across internet in many sites, social networks etc. The recent boobquake protest across the internet is the brain child of a college student Jennifer McCreight, a self-described atheist, feminist and geek “trapped in Indiana”. It all started on 26th April, She took over issue with Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi’s message in Tehran, the Iranian capital.

“Many women who do not dress modestly … lead young men astray, corrupt their chastity and spread adultery in society, which (consequently) increases earthquakes,” A senior Iranian cleric, Hojatoleslam Kazem Sedighi was quoted as saying by Iranian media.

“When promiscuity spreads, earthquakes increase,” he said. “There is no way other than taking refuge in religion and adapting ourselves to Islamic behavior.”

Jennifer McCreight, who is pursuing a double major in genetics and evolution, invited on her blog, inviting women to gather at the Purdue Bell Tower “in your immodest clothing to represent Boobquake“ to join for a scientific experiment to test Sedighi’s hypothesis!

She wrote- ““Time for a Boobquake, On Monday, April 26, I will wear the most cleavage-showing shirt I own. … I encourage other female skeptics to join me and embrace the supposed supernatural power of their breasts. Or short shorts, if that’s your preferred form of immodesty.”

So they had a gathering & Jennifer McCreight said that she would continue to monitor seismic activity for the next 24 hours. and after 24 hours the seismic report was also out, which said there was no earthquake due to Boobs!!! (is Sadeghi reading this??)

Although there was no siesmic waves generated but s asocial media wave was surely generated.

The event created on facebook which started by 30 confirmed guests and now it has 213600 confirmed guests!

The facebook page was created which has now 89,470 fans likes! one of the comments on facebook read – “Nice to know that WOMEN are SO powerful that they can make men AND nature quake with a flash of her breasts! LOL!”

The hashtag #boobquake was used by many and is till being used in many tweets.

The boobquake was covered across the internet in various blogs (including mashable), news sites etc.

What is a Tag?

Possible answers are: Unique identifier, Keyword assigned to a Information. Some even refer it to Tag Heuer!!!

Flickr defines Tag as Tags are like keywords or labels that you add to a photo to make it easier to find later. Youtube defines tag as Tags are keywords that describe videos.

But here we are talking a different type of tag. We are talking about Microsoft Tag. Microsoft has come up with a Mobile Tagging.

Microsoft Tag is a breakthrough technology that transforms everyday things in the real world into live links to online information and entertainment.

What is Microsoft Tag?

Microsoft Tag is a square Image (Just like Bar code, but in graphic mode) which contains information about the product. And to read the information, all you need is a mobile phone! Simply snap or scan a Tag image anywhere you see it – in editorials, advertisements, product packaging, signs and storefronts – and gain instant access to Websites, videos, reviews, schedules, contact information, social networks, discounts, promotions and more!

Live Example of Tag:

You need to have a camera phone & GPRS/WIFI

Download a tag reader Software (FREE!!) from http://gettag.mobi

Install the software, open it and point your Mobile camera to this image

The software will automatically snap it, and open the website (here, blog) on your mobile Phone Browser!!

The tag can be used not only to share your website but it has other uses too!!

Some other uses of Microsoft Tags are:

Business Cards:

Mix it up! Use one Tag for business colleagues and another version for social networking.

Your Tag can link people to mobile sites, profiles, videos, podcasts, products, or other little pieces of content like ringtones and wallpapers.

Never lose a number; contact data can be automatically added to your mobile address book.

Movie Trailers:

Movie-goers spread the word—and build demand—by sharing the Tag with friends.

The same Tag can appear on Web sites, in print, and in online ads, to drive people to the video trailer that loads and plays on their phone.

There are many other uses, which can be found on Microsoft.com/tag.

So What makes Microsoft tag special???

It makes static Images more interactive, without any external device

It is from the SW Giant Microsoft

Ease of use

It can be used for many purposes – Websites, Images, Videos, Social Networking (Pointing to the twitter, FB page directly)

You can create your own tags for whatever you want! (http://tag.microsoft.com)

Best of all, it is free!

I used it with my E71, and using it was easy and quick! Just pointing to the tag from any angle works fine!!

And if you want to add me to your phonebook, download Microsoft Tag (http://gettag.mobi) and point your phone to this:

Now that the post is finished, I am thinking of some ‘tags’ for my post!!

Can you suggest some more uses of Microsoft Tags?

Inputs from Microsoft tag Website

“Its actually vanilla!!”

“Blue”

“Lavender”

These were the status messages of my Female chat friends. At first I thought it may be coincidence. but the 2 more status messages “navy blue” and “white” compelled me to ask one of my friends about the status message. the reply was – “its the color of my Bra!!!”. Bra color?? why would anyone keep Brassiere Color as status message? The reply was -” my friend said so, and all other girls also have kept the status message on same lines.”

Why would anyone share their color of Brassiere with the whole internet? Strangely, Nobody (of my friends) knew the reason! Another example of ‘herd mentality’

Google came for rescue again . . . So here’s the reason:

Accotding to Mashable:

A Detroit blog suggests that the color update craze was started by women in Detroit who are trying to raise awareness around Breast Cancer (though October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month). Another blog backs up that notion and includes the following Facebook message:

“Some fun is going on…. just write the color of your bra in your status. Just the color, nothing else. It will be neat to see if this will spread the wings of breast cancer awareness. It will be fun to see how long it takes before people wonder why all the girls have a color in their status… Haha .”

Hmm.. A nice thought and we must admit that it worked. . . it became Viral, and people who dont know the reason also participated in it. Some even declared it as a new Social media case study.

I strongly deny that. I agree it was viral and reached to a large audience but people talked about Innerwear, colours, exchanged views but what they didnt do was – ‘talking about breast cancer‘. and that where it fails. It would have been better if it had message about preventing it. or rise awareness about it. The Facebook Message itself states that “It will be fun to know. .. “. So it was just for fun not on any serious note.

There are already 3-4 groups/pages supporting/against the campiagn, largest being “I Really Dont Care What Color Your Bra Is” – with arnd 2500 Members (as of now). So some other pages have crop up which will die eventually.

So, if you updated your status mentioning your Bra color, even after knowing all this, then we’ll know why you did that, the same reason for which everyone does – Seeking Attention!!!

Now that you got to know about the Bra colors, why not share this, I am sure it will be more helpful: http://www.breastcancer.org/

Lufthansa Airlines have come up with a unique social media strategy. If you are flying, MySkyStatus automatically sends status updates to your Facebook and Twitter accounts with your departure, location and arrival information. It’s travel made social and it’s easy to set up.

Select your carrier (Yes!! Any Airline!!)

Departure date

Flight Number

Departure, arrival time and date

Just login with your Twitter details and it will automatically update your status. The status updates looks like this:

Seems an engaging activity, interesting and very good use of social media.

Any more ideas/comments on the same??
