Jai Ho! and Ho Jaye – Times of India day.in advertisement

Today TOI carried this advertisement of day.in. It instantly caught my attention. And then My Best AC bus was also wrapped in the same illustration. People on the road were actually turning around and looking at it.

The tagline : Jai Ho!! and Ho Jaye fits aptly for the India and Indians.

Pixel Perfect!!!

Wikipedia defines Pixel as – the smallest addressable screen element. Ever wondered how the world would be if made of pixels?? Here it is:

Kabhi Kabhie – back to old times

Few of my Friends (Ankeet, Amit,  Navjot) call me old. cos of my love to old movies and songs. i am an ardent fan of songs and movies from golden era (pre 90’s).  Perhaps the only one listening to Radio Mirchi’s Purani Jeans. Purani Jeans is the Show (Sun-Fri, 9-12 PM) playing the old numbers. RJ Anmol hosting the show, A self confessed Devanand Fan and a Fitness freak (mentioned in the profile) hosts the show with perfect ease and a great connect with the audience.

Recently Purani Jeans organised a Purani Jeans Film Festival. Where they planned to show 1 Classic movies every week for a month. They started with Vijay Anand’s Guide (It had to be, as Anmol’s fav star is Devanand!!). I tried a lot for the Passes but failed!

It followed by Shammi Kapoor, An Evening in Paris. Chief guest was Sharmila Tagore with Shankar Jaikishan’s Music, Rafi Saab’s magical voice. Again I tried a lot, but didnt get the passes. 🙁

Now they announced Kabhi Kabhie. And I had to watch the show at any cost. In the lines of Anmol – I am a self confessed Fan (AC) of Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. I have watched all his movies (Yes, even Saat Hindustaani, in parts though). I maintain Time sheet of all his movies, Tweets and blog posts. A regular reader of his blog posts and Tweets. These reasons along with Kabhi kabhie’s magic and love for old movies, made me win the passes. I went for the show at Oberoi Mall, Goregaon. Got to see the legend ‘Khyyam’ Himself.

The show as perfect.

Google gets a background

Google – the most used search engine was liked by many for the most simple interface. Just a Search box and two buttons – Google Search and I’m feeling Lucky (Though, I still wonder how many use that button. I have used it very very rarely!). And a few Basic links about google and advanced search.

But, Now i think people got bored of the simple, minimalistic, while layout. Then Bing was launched with Background Images. I had a thought once about Google having a Background pic.

But, Today when I opened Google.com, I found a small link on the left hand bottom corner, which said – Sign in to see your background Image. When Signed up – It gives option of selecting Images from: Computer, Picasa, Public Gallery and Editor’s pick. Also they have awarning which says – only use pictures that you have licence to use. (how many people will use licenced pictures?) I Opted for Public gallery and chose this.

Still its a nice gesture to personalise the world favourite Search Engine.

Whats your Background image for the google Search Engine??
